Two platforms, two very different approaches. Stake launched in 2017 and became the world’s dominant crypto casino — it sponsors an F1 team, partners with the UFC, and counts Drake among its brand ambassadors. Rainbet launched in 2023, signed streamer Adin Ross to a reported $150 million deal in late 2025, and has been climbing the market-share charts ever since.

On paper they look similar: both are dark-themed crypto casinos with a Curaçao licence, a sportsbook and a library of slots. In practice, they serve very different types of players. This guide breaks down every meaningful difference.

Platform Overviews

Background

Stake

Stake launched in 2017 under Curaçao-licensed operator Medium Rare N.V., founded by Australian entrepreneurs Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani. It has built mainstream credibility through high-profile sponsorships: front-of-shirt partner at Everton FC since 2022/23, title partner of the Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber for the 2024–25 seasons, and official UFC betting partner across Latin America and Asia. Brand ambassadors have included Drake, Sergio Agüero, Israel Adesanya and Frankie Dettori.

Two events have complicated the brand. In August 2023, Stake suffered an estimated $41 million hot-wallet hack — widely attributed to North Korea’s Lazarus Group — but reimbursed all affected players in full. Then in March 2025, Stake closed its UK operation after the UK Gambling Commission launched an investigation into its white-label partner TGP Europe, which was fined £3.3 million and surrendered all UK licences in May 2025.

Rainbet

Rainbet launched in 2023 and has grown rapidly, now holding around 7% of the crypto-casino deposit market. Owned by RBGAMING N.V. (incorporated in Curaçao) with an additional Anjouan Internet Gaming Licence, the platform’s biggest growth catalyst has been influencer marketing. In October 2025 it signed streamer Adin Ross — who had previously represented Stake — to a reported two-year, $150 million sponsorship deal. The move sent significant audience traffic Rainbet’s way and coincided with the platform’s rise from outside the top 10 to fourth place in monthly deposit rankings.

Note on Trustpilot: Rainbet’s profile is currently marked “unavailable due to a breach of guidelines” after fake reviews were removed. Of 490 remaining reviews, 52% are one-star and 42% five-star — a polarised pattern common to offshore crypto casinos. Cross-check on AskGamblers, Casinopedia and BTCGOSU before forming an opinion.

Games & Casino

What’s on offer

Raw game counts tell only half the story here. Rainbet edges ahead on sheer volume — 7,068 games from 47 providers, including 6,893 slots, 20 roulette variants, 31 game shows and 98 live tables. But Stake’s real differentiator is its exclusive content depth. The dedicated “Only on Stake” section houses dozens of providers offering hundreds of titles you genuinely cannot find anywhere else — a catalogue that goes far beyond the headline Originals count and keeps growing.

Those Stake Originals — Crash, Plinko, Mines, Dice, Limbo, Hilo, Keno, Wheel and many more — predominantly carry a stated 99% RTP, the highest in the casino, and are provably fair. Rainbet’s own Originals are smaller in number and notably missing a Crash game. Stake also adds an integrated poker room with Hold’em, Omaha and Sit & Go formats that Rainbet doesn’t offer at all.

On sports, both run full sportsbooks. Stake covers 35+ traditional sports plus 10+ esports with free HD live streaming. Rainbet covers 40+ sports with particularly deep esports markets (CS2, League of Legends, Dota 2, Valorant) and up to 200+ markets per Premier League match.

Bonuses & Promotions

What you actually get

The two platforms have almost opposite bonus philosophies.

Stake offers no standard welcome bonus. Value flows instead through promo-code–activated deposit matches (up to 200%, typically capped at $1,000–$3,000 with a 40× wagering requirement) and its ongoing race and raffle structure: a $100,000 Daily Race where the top 5,000 wagerers share the prize pool, and a $75,000 Weekly Raffle (one ticket per $1,000 wagered).

Rainbet goes the traditional route. Its welcome package consists of three deposit bonuses — 100%, then 50%, then 100% — each paired with 20 Sweet Bonanza free spins, for a combined ceiling of $2,100 + 60 free spins. The VIP system is one of the most structured in the industry: seven tiers split across 25 sub-levels, with rakeback claimable every 10 minutes and daily reloads up to three times per day.

The key difference: at mid-stakes, Rainbet’s frequent rakeback returns more day-to-day value. At very high volume, Stake’s prize pools become significantly more lucrative.

Payments & Cryptocurrencies

Funding your account

Stake supports 22 cryptocurrencies — Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Solana, Tron, Ripple, BNB, Cardano, USDT and USDC among them — with no minimum deposit and withdrawals typically clearing in under 10 minutes. Fiat on-ramps include Apple Pay, Google Pay, MoonPay, Interac (Canada), Pix (Brazil), UPI (India) and AstroPay (LATAM).

Rainbet covers a comparable crypto basket and similar fiat channels — Apple Pay, Interac, Pix, Visa/Mastercard, MoonPay — plus a Rainbet Gift Card redemption system. Rainbet prioritises low-fee networks (TRC-20, BEP-20) to minimise transaction costs. Both platforms process routine withdrawals on-chain with no significant internal queue.

Licensing, Regulation & Safety

Who’s keeping watch

Both platforms operate under Curaçao licensing, which provides lighter-touch consumer protection than stricter jurisdictions like the UK (UKGC) or Malta (MGA). The key difference is that Stake has secured local licences in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Italy and Denmark, while Rainbet operates solely under its Curaçao master licence and an Anjouan Internet Gaming Licence. In Stake’s locally-licensed markets, players have a formal regulatory body to complain to. Rainbet players do not.

On KYC, the platforms have moved in opposite directions. Stake made identity verification mandatory from sign-up in January 2025. Rainbet still allows deposits and gameplay before KYC, but requires verified identity before any withdrawal is processed.

Responsible gambling tools are a significant gap. Stake offers deposit limits, loss limits, session time limits and self-exclusion. Rainbet offers only self-exclusion — no deposit, loss or wagering controls exist on the platform.

The Verdict

Final recommendation

There is no universal winner — the right call depends entirely on how you play.

Pick Stake if you’re a serious, high-frequency player. The 99% RTP on Originals, the race and raffle prize pools, the integrated poker room, and the full responsible gambling toolkit all point to a platform built for people who gamble a lot. If you live in Brazil, Italy, Colombia, Peru, Mexico or Denmark, Stake also gives you the safety net of a local licence.

Pick Rainbet if you’re a casual or mid-stakes player looking for the most game variety and the most immediate reward structure. The welcome package is genuinely generous, the 25-level VIP ladder returns value frequently, and the breadth of the slot library means you’re unlikely to run out of things to try.

Before depositing at either site: do a small test deposit, complete KYC immediately, and execute a small test withdrawal first. Both platforms pay reliably for routine accounts, but verification front-loading protects you if anything goes wrong.

Gambling involves real financial risk. Only deposit what you can afford to lose. If gambling stops being fun, contact GamCare (gamcare.org.uk) or the National Council on Problem Gambling (ncpgambling.org) for free, confidential support.
