Stake’s February Casino Subscription promo includes a line that’s never appeared before:
“Not applicable to users under Indian KYC.”
Indian players are now locked out of this bonus. It’s the first time Stake has restricted a promotion based on verification country.
Why This Promo
Stake Casino Subscription sends email reminders about new games and promos. Active players get rewards for the subscription, typically ranging from $15 to $100. So this is a decent bonus with minimal effort required.
Starting this February, to qualify as “active,” you need to wager at least $1 in the last seven days. Previously, you just needed to place one bet of any value – which could be fractions of a cent.
For regular players, this changes nothing. But for people running multiple accounts with minimum bets on each it just got harder.
The Indian KYC restriction has only appeared on this promo so far. Other Stake promotions with actual gameplay requirements – hitting targets, completing challenges – don’t have this clause.
Why Do This
India is one of Stake’s biggest markets. Stake knew this would cause backlash. They did it anyway.
Whatever problem they’re dealing with – bonus abuse or something else – got bad enough that regional restrictions were worth the heat.
And they do have problems with multi-accounting on Stake. Check their forum where they post promo winners. You’ll see usernames like “player123,” “player124,” “player125.” Same base name, different numbers. People run multiple accounts in plain sight, collecting bonuses on each one.
We’re not saying this is specific to any country. But just look at those winner lists – it’s pretty obvious what’s happening. And if people abuse promos with actual gameplay requirements, a minimal-effort subscription bonus is an even easier target.
