BGaming · Wheel Game Review

Review, demo & how to play — what it is, how the wheel works, and how to give yourself the best shot at a big catch.

96%
RTP
54
Sectors
×1000

Fishing Time is a 2026 release from BGaming that swaps the usual fishing rod and the long wait for a bite for one satisfying action: spin the wheel and see the result. Instead of spinning reels and chasing paylines, you bet on where a giant 54-sector wheel will stop. Most stops pay a small, steady prize — but land on one of the special bonus sectors and the game switches into a fishing mini-game where a multiplier climbs as the angler reels in the catch.

It’s part of a wave of “wheel” titles that borrow the feel of popular live-casino game shows, but packaged as a fast, lightweight game that loads instantly and runs smoothly on mobile. The friendly angler will look familiar to anyone who has played BGaming’s Winter Fishing Club

How the Wheel Is Built

Every spin lands on one of 54 sectors, divided into five groups. The size of each group tells you how often it tends to come up:

Regular White
23 sectors
Regular Grey
23 sectors
Big Catch
4 sectors
Huge Catch
3 sectors
Mega Catch
1 sector

The two Regular groups make up the bulk of the wheel, so they’re the “bread and butter” results. The three bonus groups are rarer — and that’s exactly where the bigger money lives.

Paytable

Sector Payout
Regular White ×2
Regular Grey ×2
Big Catch ×3 – ×150
Huge Catch ×5 – ×300
Mega Catch ×10 – ×1000

The two Regular sectors pay a flat ×2. The three Catch sectors pay a range, because they trigger a bonus game: the angler reels in the fish, and the multiplier rises until the catch is landed. The fully-reeled multiplier is what gets applied to your stake — so a Big Catch could land anywhere from ×3 up to a massive ×150, and a Mega Catch can reach ×1000.

Big Catch
×3 – ×150
4 sectors
Huge Catch
×5 – ×300
3 sectors
Mega Catch
×10 – ×1000
1 sector

On top of that, random multipliers of ×2 to ×10 may be dropped onto random sectors before the wheel spins. If the wheel stops on a sector that picked up one of those boosts, your win is multiplied again.

How to Play

    1. 1Pick a chip value. Fishing Time uses chips of 0.1, 1, 2.5, 10 and 50. Click the chip you want.
    2. 2Click a sector card to bet. Bet on Regular White, Regular Grey, Big Catch, Huge Catch or Mega Catch. To cover all three bonus zones at once, use All Bonuses.
    3. 3Stack multiple bets. You can place several bets across different sectors in the same round.
  1. 4See where it lands. A Regular sector you backed pays the flat amount; a Big/Huge/Mega Catch you backed starts the bonus mini-game and the multiplier climbs to its final value.

There’s also an Autoplay mode: tap the Auto (A) button, choose how many rounds to run, and the game repeats your bet automatically. It stops when your rounds finish, if you change the bet, or if your balance runs low.

Try the Demo First

BGaming games are available in free demo mode (the balance shows as “FUN” rather than real money). This is the smartest place to start. You can learn how the betting bar works, see how often the bonus catches actually appear, and get a feel for the swings — all without spending anything. Treat the demo as your training pool before deciding whether the real game suits your style.

The Odds Behind the Bets

Understanding how often each result is likely to come up makes Fishing Time much easier to read. Based on how the wheel is divided:

Regular White

~43%
Regular Grey

~43%
Big Catch

~7%
Huge Catch

~6%
Mega Catch

~2%

So roughly 6 spins out of 7 will land on a Regular sector, while a Mega Catch turns up only about once every 50 or so spins on average. The trade-off is clear: the rarer the sector, the bigger the potential payout.

How to Win

There’s no trick that beats a random wheel, and it’s worth saying so plainly: Fishing Time by BGaming runs on a certified random number generator with a 96% RTP, which means that over the long run the game keeps about 4% of all money wagered. No betting pattern changes that math. What you can control is how you play:

✓Match your bets to your goal. Want frequent small hits and longer play? Lean on the Regular sectors. Chasing headline multipliers? The Catch sectors hold the ×150 / ×300 / ×1000 prizes — but they hit far less often.
✓Use “All Bonuses” deliberately. It covers Big, Huge and Mega Catch in one click, raising your chance of catching a bonus — but it costs three bets at once, so it burns through a balance faster.
✓Set a session budget — and stick to it. Decide what you’re willing to spend and treat it as the cost of entertainment, not an investment.
✓Keep stake sizes sensible. Smaller chips mean more spins for the same money, which stretches the fun and smooths out the swings.
✓Watch for the random multipliers. When a ×2–×10 boost lands on a sector you’ve backed, that’s the moment an ordinary win becomes a great one. You can’t force it, but you’ll appreciate it when it happens.

The realistic mindset: bonus catches and random multipliers are what make a session exciting, but the house edge is always there. Play for the fun of the chase, not to make money.

Fishing Time vs Ice Fishing: How Do They Compare?

If you enjoy wheel-based games with a fishing theme, Evolution Gaming’s Ice Fishing is the natural point of comparison. The two games share the same core concept — a segmented virtual wheel, tiered bonus mini-games, and random multipliers dropped on before the spin — but they differ in ways that matter depending on how you like to play.

Feature Fishing Time (BGaming) Ice Fishing (Evolution)
Format RNG slot Live game show
Wheel segments 54 53
Bonus tiers Big / Huge / Mega Catch Lil’ Blues / Big Oranges / Huge Reds
Max win ×1,000 ×5,000
RTP 96% (flat) 94.55% – 97.10% (bet-dependent)
Free demo ✓ Yes ✗ No
Live host ✗ No ✓ Yes

The sharpest divide between the two is format. Ice Fishing is a live game show — real hosts in an arctic-themed studio guide each round, slowly reeling up the catch and building suspense in a way an RNG title can’t replicate. Fishing Time is fully digital: faster, self-paced, and available in free demo mode without an account.

On RTP, Fishing Time keeps things simple with a flat 96% across every bet type. Ice Fishing peaks at 97.10% on its base Leaf bets, but bonus bets carry lower rates — and high rollers staking €100 or more on Huge Reds see that figure drop to 94.55%. If you want a consistent, predictable return rate, Fishing Time wins on clarity.

The bottom line: choose Ice Fishing if the live-show spectacle and a ×5,000 ceiling are what excite you. Choose Fishing Time if you want instant access, a free demo to try first, and a straightforward RTP with no small print. Both scratch the same itch — it’s really a question of pace and atmosphere.

Is Fishing Time Worth Playing?

Fishing Time is a clean, fast, mobile-friendly take on the wheel format. It strips away slot-machine complexity and gives you one clear decision each round — where will it stop? — backed by three bonus catches and random multipliers that keep things lively. The flat ×2 Regular wins give it a steady rhythm, while the ×1000 Mega Catch ceiling provides a genuine reason to dream.

It won’t reinvent the genre, and the 96% RTP is standard rather than generous, but for casual players who want quick rounds and a bit of suspense without a steep learning curve, it’s an easy game to pick up and enjoy. Start in the free demo, find the bet style that fits you, and treat any big catch as a happy bonus.

⚠️ Play Responsibly

Gambling should be fun, not a way to make money. Only play with money you can afford to lose, set limits before you start, and step away if it stops being enjoyable. If gambling is causing you or someone you know harm, reach out to a local support service such as GamCare, BeGambleAware, or a national gambling helpline. You must be of legal age to play.
